Throughout the last decade, the smartphone has become the way most people get their information. And it was projected that it would only increase. But that dropped off a bit during the Covid pandemic. People didn't think the pandemic would last for the length of time that it has, and they didn't understand how much people's routines would have changed because of it. One of the things that occurred, is that because people couldn't leave their homes, they began using their computers for more searches.
- Throughout the last decade, more and more people are relying on their mobile phones to get information.
- As a result of Covid, the year 2020 brought a reduction in the amount of traffic taking place on mobile phones.
- Part of the reason that mobile traffic went down during the pandemic, was because companies had a lower budget for advertising through that medium.
"Something we must bear in mind is that the fall in mobile traffic is NOT synonymous with the fact that we have stopped using the smartphone."
