Not to be confused with neurolinguistic programming, except in my own head, our topic here is natural language processing. When Google was born this was not even a thing – now it’s one of the biggest things. This is somewhat ironic in my view, because prior to Google all search algorithms were basically just text processing and analysis. To be sure, they’re processing analysis was amazingly primitive by today’s standards. But hey, I started programming with punch cards so I feel your pain. In this lesson or deuce the different kinds of language processing that have been developed over the years, there are many of them, some of them are still used, maybe even most of them, but knowing how they operate, what they can do, what they cannot do, will help you understand what “on-page optimization” can even mean.
